Double Layer Draining Basket with Washing Basin for Rice and Herbs

Washing molokhia means filling the sink, and then the sink is taken, dripping and unusable while you are trying to get everything else done.

What Are the Key Features of This Double-Layer Draining Basket?

• Two parts doing one job: a perforated inner basket inside a solid outer basin, so washing and draining happen in the same vessel and neither needs the sink.
• The grit ends up in the water: sand and dust sink into the basin while the parsley and the molokhia float clear above them.
• Lift the basket out and the water stays put: nothing runs down your forearm and nothing needs a second bowl standing by to catch it.
• It gives you the sink back: fill once at the tap, carry it to the counter, and the washing-up can carry on around you.
• White or Yellow: the two colours we actually stock.

Where Can You Use This Washing and Draining Basket?

• Rinsing rice and lentils before they go in the pot
• Washing salad leaves, parsley and molokhia away from the sink
• Draining pasta over the basin instead of into the sink
• Holding washed fruit on the table
• Soaking and then draining in one vessel out on the balcony, where there is no second bowl

Why Choose a Basket-and-Basin Combo Over Washing Straight in the Sink?

• Basket and basin in one: fill once at the tap and carry the whole thing to the counter instead of leaving the water running.
• Grit stays down, leaves float clear: lift the inner basket straight out and every drop stays behind, with no second bowl standing by.
• It gives you the sink back: the washing-up carries on around you while the molokhia is still soaking on the counter.

Material & Build

• Two layers: a perforated inner basket inside a solid outer basin.
• Material: sold as plastic.
• The shape says more than the label does: a washing basin has to be light enough to carry full of water from the tap to the counter, and has to survive being knocked against a tap and a sink edge every day for years.
